Support for teachers and schools
Stonewall's Education for All website contains further guidance on how to challenge homophobia and talk positively about sexuality in the classroom. It also includes a resources section, with best-practice guides such as:
Homophobic bullying: Guidance is part of Safe to learn, an anti-bullying pack for schools published by DCSF.
The QCA PSHE and Citizenship programmes of study for key stage 3 and 4 include teaching on sexuality.
Schools OUT's website has information spanning a variety of subjects - compatible with the National Curriculum and suitable for a variety of key stages.
Support for parents
Friends and Families of Lesbians and Gays (FFLAG) provides support for the families and friends of lesbian, gay and bisexual young people.
Pink Parents offers support to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) parents and their children, partners, parents and friends.
Support and resources for young people
Queery.org.uk holds up-to-date information on LGBT projects and other useful services in the UK.
Stonewall and Schools OUT also have resources for young people.
YGM - Terrence Higgins Trust's website for young gay men.
ChildLine 0800 1111 is a free helpline for children and young people in the UK.
Avert has a number of resources for young lesbian and gay people.
Education Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH) has information for young people who experience bullying.
Mermaids is an organisation that supports young transgender people and other young people experiencing issues with their gender identity.
