The Drill Hall presents

the mermaid & the moustache

The Mermaid and The Moustache explores that undefined land between the lines, where gender ends and strange tails begin.

An unnamed woman finds her legs fusing into a fish's tail as a response to ageing in an uncompassionate world.

Unable to comprehend this strange phenomenon, she starts to travel in the company of the aristocratic transgender charmer "Lucky" Byers.

The Mermaid and The Moustache is an exploration in music, words and visual images of situations beyond dreams and beyond gender limitations.

These performances are part of our Under Construction programme. This gives artists and audiences the opportunity to discuss work that is in its early stages of development.

Both performances will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
